Well, it might be quite bad news for Reliance Jio customers as from now Jio users have to pay for all outgoing voice calls made to other mobile numbers of different operators other than Jio. However, the telecom the additional charges compensate them by giving free internet data of equal value.

Well, in simple terms all the recharges made by Jio consumers starting today, voice/video calls made to different mobile operators will be charged as per new IUC (Interconnect Usage Charges) at the rate of 6 paise per minute.

Jio announced the following things in a press release issued today:

1. Jio declared it would provide supplementary free internet data entitlement of equal value based on IUC top-up voucher consumption.
2. The benefit of this will assure no increase in tariff for customers.
3. Jio also stated the six paise per minute charge would not implement on all Jio to Jio calls, all incoming calls, Jio to landline calls and calls made using WhatsApp or FaceTime and similar platforms.

The following top-up vouchers will be available for all customers, and the user can choose as per their requirements: 

1. For ₹10 IUC top-up voucher, Jio users will get 1GB free data and 124 IUC minutes.
2. For ₹20 vouchers, Jio customers will get 2 GB of free data and 249 IUC minutes. 
3. For ₹50 top-up vouchers, Jio customers will get 5 GB free data and 656 IUC minutes. 
4. For ₹100 top-up vouchers, Jio customers will get 10 GB free data and 1,362 IUC minutes.

If you make massive calls, then this might be a bad new but nothing to worry about as Jio said the new imposed prices would last until the time TRAI terminates IUC.
